Allergy/Post-nasal drip problem?

My girlfriend and I have suffered from allergies for several months. We both have a post-nasal drip and cough often from it. We use a hepa-vacuum, plastic coated our mattress, have air-cleaners, removed carpets, and did all the common stuff to remove home allergins but are allergies are still there. Our family doctor can’t even figure it out. And ideas??

I would see a naturopath. My kids had severe allergies, and after a while they were year round and getting worse. The naturopath helped us with natural treatments that both boosted the kids immune systems and fine-tuned them so that they were not always in overreaction mode. Try nasal rinses (saline or a product called "Alcolol" and avoid over the counter meds. Quercetin is a very effective natural allergy treatment (herbal) that has helped our family a lot, too.
Aside from the alternative treatments the other poster mentioned, I would suggest trying your doctor, who can also refer you to an allergist. You can be tested with a general allergy panel to see if it is just dust mites or perhaps other things, including foods and environmental allergies.
You are doing the right things as far as dust mites go, but it is possible to develop allergies at any time, so it may be something else. There could be something else in your home that is hiding, perhaps molds in the walls, termites or more. General testing will cover some of these things – talk to the allergist and decide what to test for.
There are allergy medications, but it’s best if you can avoid them since they often lose efficacy over time and it’s better to avoid the allergen (as you have been trying to do) if possible.
Good luck!
