Anyone buy a refurbished Dyson vacuum from Overstock? If so, what are your thoughts on new vs. refurbished?
I want to buy a Dyson DC14 All floors vacuum and wondering if i should buy it new for 6 at a local retail store or buy it refurbished at overstock.com for 5. Anyone buy a dyson from overstock? The guy from overstock told me most of their vacuums are just customers returning cause they cant afford them or cause they returned them for other reasons other than being defective
Thanks for the help.. I actually forgot to mention the new one has a 5 year warranty and the refurbished has a 6 month manufacturer warranty plus a 2 year overstock warranty in which if the item cant be fixed they will send me a replacement. Im thinking about just going for the new one

Even if a product is returned because the customer didn’t like it, the plant has to actually test the unit to ensure there is nothing wrong with it before they sell it again.
So even if there was nothing wrong with it in the first place, buying a refurbished one ensures that the one you get has been tested and proven to work properly. A new one may or may not have been tested, as any manufacturing company tests only a small percentage of their new products before they are sold.
The only reason I would ever buy new over a refurbished unit would be if the warranty was significantly different.
well if there is only a 60 dollar difference then I would jsut buy new and not worry about it breaking down.
some of the dysons are not covered under the 5 year warranty. check to see if the unit you are purchasing has the warranty.
the warranty covers all belts and filters. replacing these over time can be costly being that dysons often have 2 belts.
for a unit this good….i would pass up the bargain and go for the new one which is 399.99 at best buy and target.
I bought a "remanufactured" one from Amazon.com… I have had no problems with it at all.
Congrats on getting a Dyson!
