I have a Dyson Slim vacuum and it lost suction. I accidentally sucked up a ribbon attached to a blanket and so turned off the vacuum and pulled the ribbon out of the brushbar. When I turned on the vacuum the brushbar motor won’t revolve and there is no suction from the base.
I read another Yahoo member’s post that said she broke a belt, however with the Dyson slim there are no belts. What else could this be? The manual (one page) is like reading Airplane schematics. There is no trouble-shooting for this in it.

We have a kenmore canister vacuum and are wanting an upright. Are Dyson vacuums all they’re cracked up to be?

I see on the Lowes & Home Depot websites that there are a lot of different models. Can anybody tell we what the difference is between DC17, DC18, DC24, DC25, etc.???
Boy you guys are a lot of help (not). Look, I’ve been married for 13 years and I think I know my wife better than any of you do. The question wasn’t "should I get this for my wife for Christmas".
And just so you know…a couple years ago I surprised her at Christmas with a trip to Key West just for the 2 of us. I also spent a year going through our old photo albums and scanning all the photos and putting them to music to create DVD slide shows. And this year I drove my wife and kids and her elderly parents across country so my father-in-law could visit the last sister he has left alive. I do the dishes. I help with the kids, with the cooking, etc……..so don’t give me crap about not being thoughtful or romantic. Did it ever occur to people that if you show your love for your spouse on a daily basis then maybe they don’t expect you to make it all up once or twice a year at Christmas and Valentines Day?? Give me a break people.

I have a big house, with lots of white, shag carpeting. My sears canister cannot handle it, nor can my dyson. They are so hard to push along, and make loud noises like they are ready to break down. Does anyone know of an affordable, effective machine for shag carpet? Attachments for stairs would be of great help too. Thank you!!

I guess my wife is unique, cause honestly, there’s nothing she wants more than one of these Dysons. (I don’t know why.) Believe me, I never thought I’d consider spending that kind of money on a freakin vacuum.

I am thinking about buying a dc25 dyson vacuum cleaner. I have always used a canister but I really want to make the switch. Does anyone have any advice for me as far as how well it works and how durable it is. I am little concerned about all the plastic parts. So can someone help me out?

I am considering buying this vacuum, but I’ve never spent 0 on a vacuum before. Dyson seems to get really good reviews though. Do you like this vacuum overall? Is there anything you definitely don’t like about it that I should know about before I go out and buy one?

I love the suction on my Dyson vacuum cleaner, but in the last week it started emitting an unpleasant odor (not burning, just dirty). I’ve cleaned out the canister thoroughly, but there is still smelly air coming out when it’s on. Do I need to replace the HEPA filter?
