Is it worth $100 less to buy a refurb Dyson DC17 Animal? $349 refurb or $439 new?

Aside from the bulkiness, it is very highly recommended.
I saw the absolute animal at pricegrabber for $299,
perhaps that would be an option, but otherwise 349 isn’t
a bad price, depending on availability, shipping, trust in
the seller, and those issues.
Dyson has a good reputation for their refurbished machines,
as long as you trust the seller.
