Rather than buy a cordless hand vacuum cleaner I personally would purchase a Shark or something similar. They are small & light yet very powerful. I have a Shark that I got at Wal-mart 5 years ago and it works great!
I have a Shark hand vac and use it on my couches, stairs etc. It works very well.
