Whick would be the better Dyson vacuum?The DC14 or the Slim Dc18?

Anybody have any experience with these 2 vacs? I would like to get one for my mom and was lookin at the DC18 because of its lightweight.Would i be missing anything by buying the smaller dc18 Slim compared to a larger Dysons?
