Which Vacuum cleaner should we buy?
We must have had 10 vacuums in the past 5 years. We have been buying bagless upright vacuum cleaners in the -0 range. We run a playgroup from our house so we vacuum alot!! At least 3 times a day. These cheap cleaners just don’t last. The loose suction very quickly and eventually just break. So we have decided to invest in a better quality one. Any suggestions of a good quality vacuum cleaner that will last and do a really good job time after time. We don’t really care about bag/bagless or upright/canister. We just want something that works well and will last. We are looking in the 0 max price range. So far we have been looking at Dyson, Oreck and Electrolux. Please help!!!!

I own a dyson and it is renowned as one of the best vacuums. My uncle has a kirby, the best vacuums available, but heavy, not packed with features, but will last forever which is what you would be paying over 1000 dollars for. The dyson comes pretty customizeable in many different models. And the fact that the dyson never loses suction which is correct. The only thing with the dyson is that if you have a pet there will get a lot of hair stuck around the rotating brush which is the only cleaning you will ever have to do with it. The receptacle is super easy to take out dump and then put back in with only one hand. Just don’t be too rough with your dyson i haven’t broken any part of mine but it is only made out of plastic.
Dyson… always the best.
Get a Eureka They and the best you can find!!!!

The Dysons are pricey but top rated and Their Customer Service is excellent !!
Go with central vac..you will never be disappointed and is well worth the money in the long run..you will not have to keep buying vacuum after vacuum.

I’ve tried Dyson and Electrolux and they haven’t been that good. The best hoover that I’ve found it the lastest version of henry hoover, its amazing! or the pink version – even better

well we have a vacuum cleaner called rainbow and it is very very very gd i think this is the one u need but it might cost u more than $400
so go see it maybe u’ll change ur mind coz it really worth it’s cost
Dyson – the best vacuum cleaner! If you’re going to pay that much, make it worth it.
Plus I’d suggest you take a look at the ‘steam mop’ (which can be used on carpet stains). I’ve NEVER ever taken to infomercials, but it looks really cool! I think it would be great for your playgroup because the kids won’t be rolling around in chemicals.
Anyway, make sure to check the warranties on all the vacuum cleaners and possibly ask for a trial in-store if they allow you.
I highly recommend a dyson. My sitter bought one about a year ago (the Animal version) and loves it. She also vacuums 3-4 times per day and it’s never let her down.
I also have one, the basic version and I love it. I’ve never had a problem with it in the 4 years I’ve had it, but I only vacuum once or twice per week.
I owned a janitorial business for 20 years and the only vacs that would hold up is Sanitaire, in fact, some of my originals are still going just as strong as the newly purchased ones.
The name brands you mentioned are houshold vacs.
Helpful hints with the Sanitaire: Empty the bag often (not just when it’s full), change the belt when it worn/damaged (not just when it breaks), when purchasing, ask if you can have a round roller vs. a flat roller. Round rollers can withstand more abuse and they are cheaper if they need to be replaced.

Looks like you may be in USA so don’t know if you can get a Henry Hover over there. They are so much easier to use than some of the others and work better than most of them. They are not to heavy if you have to carry them upstairs and the different fittings are very easy to attach. We have used them for years, both at home and for business use, and would still go for one of these again if we had to replace, but because they last for years so it’s not very often you need to. We have used the other makes at different times so can compare, and where we have they have now change to Henry’s!
Vacuums, they all suck, or should anyway.
Store brands: Bissell, Hoover, Eureka, Dirt Devil etc are all good. But not built to do the heavy duty vacuuming that a commercial vac is designed to do. I can attest to those I’ve listed. I have accrued probably 15 different models over the past year from the college apartment community we live in. I pull em out of the trash. Replace the belt, clean em up and sell em on craigs list for $15 -$65 each.
I have owned the Rainbow, albeit $1800.00 new, you can get them on craigslist for $200.00 to $600.00. It’s an excellent vacuum and will provide many many years of trouble free service. The best feature the Rainbow brings to the table is it is 100% dust free on the exhaust. Call a Rainbow distributor, ask for an in-home demonstration. You WILL be impressed. But buy a used one. You’ll save many many 100′s of dollars.

Although I haven’t purchased a Dyson yet, that’s what I plan to get. Several friends have them and said they were the best vacuum they ever had. Now that they have introduced a new design (with the roller ball in the front) they’ve reduced the price on the older models. Definitely in your price range.
